Scrum Alliance and Kanban University dual certification badges for Scrum Better with Kanban

Format: Live online via Zoom + Mural, fully interactive

Duration: 1 day (9:00–17:00 GMT, 1 hour lunch)

Exam: None — certification via full attendance

Class size: Maximum 12 participants

Prerequisites: You should be familiar with the Scrum Framework and have applied it at least once in your organisation. Reading the latest Scrum Guide beforehand is excellent preparation — it’s free online. A Scrum certification is not required. No previous Kanban training or experience is needed.

Improve your Scrum by adding the practices and evolutionary change approach from the Kanban Method. Scrum Better with Kanban captures the lessons learned from Scrum teams that have successfully evolved their way of working — and gives you a proven approach to introducing changes that deliver real results for your team and organisation.

This hands-on one-day workshop is dual-certified by both Scrum Alliance and Kanban University — one of the first courses of its kind. Each attendee receives credentials from both organisations, plus a one-month full-access trial of Kanban+, including the latest books and artefacts.

Competitors list this course at £545 and offer it at an “early bird” price of £495, a price-ladder tactic designed to make you feel you’ve saved money. Our price is an honest £495 standard rate. At that price, the question isn’t whether to attend, it’s who delivers it best.

Why the “Kanban Queen” Makes the Difference

Helen Meek — Accredited Kanban Trainer

Most SBK trainers are certified to deliver this course. Helen Meek has spent 13+ years actually applying Kanban inside real organisations — 60+ of them, including ASOS, Merck, and Cambridge University Press. That’s the difference between being taught the framework and being taught by someone who’s used it to fix the exact problems your team is facing right now.

Unplanned work is the number one pain point for Scrum teams. Most SBK courses teach you the six practices of Kanban. Ours goes further — directly addressing how to manage the unexpected without derailing your Sprint, how to use Kanban metrics where story points fail, and how to make sustainable, low-disruption changes that actually stick.

What Will You Receive?

Two Credentials from Two Accreditors

The Scrum Kanban Practitioner credential from Kanban University and the Scrum Better with Kanban microcredential from Scrum Alliance — a certificate from both organisations, earned in a single day.

Practical Tools You Can Use the Next Sprint

Hands-on Kanban practices for improving flow, managing unplanned work, and using data to make better decisions — all applied to Scrum. Not theory; tools you can implement immediately.

One Month of Kanban+ Access

A one-month full access trial to Kanban+ — the curated library of the latest Kanban books, artefacts, and resources from Kanban University. Targeted, high-quality reference material, not an overwhelming catalogue.

Free 30-Minute Coaching Session with Helen

A complimentary 30-minute one-on-one coaching session with Helen after the course — use it to work through how to apply what you’ve learned in your specific team and organisational context.

How Does the Online SBK Course Work?

One Intensive Day — Hands-On Throughout

Delivered via Zoom and Mural, this is a fully interactive workshop mixing exercises with instructor-led discussion. With a maximum of 12 participants, every exercise generates genuine discussion from your real-world context — not a lecture with a chat box. You’ll stay focused and energised with regular breaks and an hour for lunch.

No Exam — Dual Certification Through Full Participation

There is no written exam. Full attendance throughout the day is required and is a condition of earning both credentials. Upon completion you’ll receive the Scrum Kanban Practitioner credential from Kanban University and the Scrum Better with Kanban microcredential from Scrum Alliance — two certificates from two accreditors, earned in one day.

Your Questions Answered — Guaranteed

Ask any Kanban, Scrum, or flow question during the course — Helen guarantees you’ll get answers grounded in real-world experience, not just the framework. If she can’t answer all your questions, she’ll follow up after the course. Or refund your money.
