Description
Stakeholder Alignment Course: Earn the ICA Specialised Credential (IC-STAL) in a Live Online Half Day
Learn to keep stakeholders aligned when you have no direct authority over them, and take a step towards the ICA Certified Professional in Product Management (ICP-PRD).

|
Format: Live and instructor-led, online with Zoom and Mural Duration: Half day, 4 hours (start and finish times are shown for each date) |
Credential: IC-STAL Stakeholder Alignment Specialised Credential Class size: Typically around 12, maximum 20 Experience needed: No formal prerequisites |
Product managers and project leaders rarely have direct authority over the people whose support they need most. Decisions stall, scope creeps, and priorities collide, and good work gets blocked by relationships that were never built. This live Stakeholder Alignment class gives you practical ways to map your stakeholders, communicate honestly when things are uncertain, and handle competing priorities without trying to please everyone.
In a live half day, online with Zoom and Mural, you work on your own real stakeholders and your own real product or project. You leave with a stakeholder map, a clearer way to communicate under uncertainty, and the ICA Stakeholder Alignment Specialised Credential (IC-STAL).
IC-STAL is one of the Specialised Credentials that count towards the full ICA Certified Professional in Product Management certification (ICP-PRD).
How Does IC-STAL Count Towards the ICA Product Management Certification (ICP-PRD)?

ICA awards the Product Management Certification (ICP-PRD) when you hold the Core Credential plus at least two Specialised Credentials, in any order. This class earns you Stakeholder Alignment (IC-STAL). The Product Management Core Credential (IC-PDMT) and a second Specialised Credential, such as Measuring Product Value (IC-MPDV), then complete the set. You can take them in whichever order suits you.
Your Own Stakeholders, Not a Case Study
Every exercise in this class runs on the stakeholders you deal with now. You map who they are, decide how each one needs to be engaged, work out how to talk to them about what you do not yet know, and practise handling a real conflict of priorities.
Because the situations are yours, the conversations are real. Your group challenges your thinking, and you hear how alignment plays out in organisations very different from your own.

How Does the Stakeholder Alignment Class Work?
One live half day, taught by an instructorThe class runs for 4 hours online. We use Zoom for the room and Mural for the shared board. Each topic is followed straight away by practice, so you apply an idea before you move on to the next one. |
You work on your own stakeholders, in groupsThere are no case studies. You work through your real stakeholder situations, share them with your group and reflect together. Classes are typically around 12 people, with a maximum of 20, so everyone gets time for discussion and feedback. |
Practise the difficult conversationsAlignment is a people skill, so you rehearse. You try out ways to say no constructively, to negotiate a trade-off and to reframe a request, and you get feedback from your trainer and your group. |
Who Is This Class For?
This class is for anyone who needs support from people they do not manage. You do not need a product title, only real stakeholders to work with.
Product managers and product owners. You steer direction while many people pull in different ways. Learn how to keep them with you.
Project and delivery leaders. You protect scope and expectations without formal authority. Learn how to negotiate and hold your ground.
Business analysts, designers and agile coaches. You work between teams and sponsors every day. Learn how to build trust that lasts.
Aspiring ICP-PRD holders. If you are working towards the full ICA Product Management Certification, this class gives you one of the Specialised Credentials you need.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any prior experience to attend?
There are no formal prerequisites. The class suits anyone who needs support from people they do not manage. What you do need is a real set of stakeholders to work with, because every exercise uses them.
Is there an exam?
No. You earn the IC-STAL credential through full participation in the exercises across the class.
Do I need to take the Product Management Core class first?
No. ICA credentials can be earned in any order, so you can take Stakeholder Alignment before or after the Core Credential (IC-PDMT). Our two-day ICP-PDM® class also earns the IC-PDMT credential, if you would like to cover the Core in one booking.
How do I complete the full ICA Product Management Certification?
ICA awards the Product Management Certification (ICP-PRD) when you hold the Core Credential plus at least two Specialised Credentials. This class earns Stakeholder Alignment (IC-STAL). Adding the Core (IC-PDMT) and a second Specialised Credential, such as Measuring Product Value (IC-MPDV), completes the certification.
How should I prepare?
Come with a real product or project in mind and think about the stakeholders around it, because that is what you will work on. Joining instructions are sent before the class.
How many people will be in the class?
Classes typically have around 12 participants, with a maximum of 20. You work in small groups on your own stakeholders, so everyone gets time for discussion and feedback.
Are the sessions recorded?
No. The class is live and interactive, with group exercises and real-time discussion at its centre. We expect full attendance across the class to earn the credential.
What software or equipment do I need?
You need the latest Zoom desktop application (not the web or mobile version), a stable internet connection, and a working webcam and microphone, with your camera on throughout. We use Mural for the group exercises and send you the link.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We offer a full refund if you contact us before the end of the class. If your schedule changes, you can transfer your booking to a future class at no extra cost. Just let us know at least 5 working days before the class starts at talk@agileaffinity.com.
Can my employer pay, or can I get an invoice?
Yes. Select “Pay by Bank Transfer” at checkout and an invoice will be generated automatically. Payment must be received before joining instructions are sent. For larger corporate bookings or bespoke requirements, please contact us at talk@agileaffinity.com.
What if I have another question?
We are happy to help. Email us at talk@agileaffinity.com and we will get back to you quickly.
