Description
Measuring Product Value Course: Earn the ICA Specialised Credential (IC-MPDV) in a Live Online Half Day
Learn to show whether your product is creating value, and take a step towards the ICA Certified Professional in Product Management (ICP-PRD).

|
Format: Live and instructor-led, online with Zoom and Mural Duration: Half day, 4 hours (start and finish times are shown for each date) |
Credential: IC-MPDV Measuring Product Value Specialised Credential Class size: Typically around 12, maximum 20 Experience needed: No formal prerequisites |
Most product teams can tell you what they shipped. Far fewer can show whether it made a difference. Metrics get chosen because they are easy to collect, dashboards fill up, and decisions are still made on opinion. This live Measuring Product Value class gives you a practical way to define what value means for your product, choose metrics that reflect it, and use evidence to decide what to do next.
In a live half day, online with Zoom and Mural, you work on your own real product. You leave with a clearer view of the value it should create, a set of metrics that fit your context, and the ICA Measuring Product Value Specialised Credential (IC-MPDV).
IC-MPDV is one of the Specialised Credentials that count towards the full ICA Certified Professional in Product Management certification (ICP-PRD).
How Does IC-MPDV Count Towards the ICA Product Management Certification (ICP-PRD)?

ICA awards the Product Management Certification (ICP-PRD) when you hold the Core Credential plus at least two Specialised Credentials, in any order. This class earns you Measuring Product Value (IC-MPDV). The Product Management Core Credential (IC-PDMT) and a second Specialised Credential, such as Stakeholder Alignment (IC-STAL), then complete the set. You can take them in whichever order suits you.
Your Own Product, Not a Case Study
Every exercise in this class runs on a product you bring. You work out what value means for your customers and your organisation, test which metrics would really show it, and decide how you would use the evidence to choose and to learn.
Because the product is yours, the conversations are real. Your group challenges your thinking, and you hear how measurement plays out in organisations and products very different from your own.

How Does the Measuring Product Value Class Work?
One live half day, taught by an instructorThe class runs for 4 hours online. We use Zoom for the room and Mural for the shared board. Each topic is followed straight away by practice, so you apply an idea before you move on to the next one. |
You work on your own product, in groupsThere are no case studies. You work through your real product, share your thinking with your group and reflect together. Classes are typically around 12 people, with a maximum of 20, so everyone gets time for discussion and feedback. |
Practise reading the evidenceMeasurement is only useful if it changes what you do. You practise asking what a metric can and cannot tell you, and what you would decide differently as a result, with feedback from your trainer and your group. |
Who Is This Class For?
This class is for anyone who is asked to show that a product is working. You do not need a product title, only a real product, service or internal platform to work on.
Product managers and product owners. You are asked what difference your product makes. Learn how to answer with evidence rather than activity.
Project and delivery leaders. You are moving from reporting on delivery to showing value. Learn which measures tell the difference.
Analysts, designers and agile coaches. You work close to the data and the decisions. Learn how to help teams choose measures that guide them.
Aspiring ICP-PRD holders. If you are working towards the full ICA Product Management Certification, this class gives you one of the Specialised Credentials you need.
What Will You Be Able to Do After the IC-MPDV Class?
|
Defining Product Value and Outcomes In our class: you agree what value means for your product, for your customers and for your organisation, and put it in terms of outcomes. |
Selecting Product Metrics In our class: you choose a small set of metrics for your own product and test whether they would really show progress. |
|
|
Adapting Metrics Across Context In our class: you look at how the right measures change with the type and stage of a product, and adjust your own choices to fit. |
Using Evidence to Decide and Learn In our class: you practise turning evidence from your metrics into a decision, and into the next thing you need to learn. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any prior experience to attend?
There are no formal prerequisites. The class suits anyone who is asked to show that a product is working. What you do need is a real product, service or internal platform to work on, because every exercise uses it.
Is there an exam?
No. You earn the IC-MPDV credential through full participation in the exercises across the class.
Do I need to take the Product Management Core class first?
No. ICA credentials can be earned in any order, so you can take Measuring Product Value before or after the Core Credential (IC-PDMT). Our two-day ICP-PDM® class also earns the IC-PDMT credential, if you would like to cover the Core in one booking.
How do I complete the full ICA Product Management Certification?
ICA awards the Product Management Certification (ICP-PRD) when you hold the Core Credential plus at least two Specialised Credentials. This class earns Measuring Product Value (IC-MPDV). Adding the Core (IC-PDMT) and a second Specialised Credential, such as Stakeholder Alignment (IC-STAL), completes the certification.
How should I prepare?
Come with a real product in mind and think about how you know, today, whether it is working. That is what you will work on. Joining instructions are sent before the class.
How many people will be in the class?
Classes typically have around 12 participants, with a maximum of 20. You work in small groups on your own product, so everyone gets time for discussion and feedback.
Are the sessions recorded?
No. The class is live and interactive, with group exercises and real-time discussion at its centre. We expect full attendance across the class to earn the credential.
What software or equipment do I need?
You need the latest Zoom desktop application (not the web or mobile version), a stable internet connection, and a working webcam and microphone, with your camera on throughout. We use Mural for the group exercises and send you the link.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We offer a full refund if you contact us before the end of the class. If your schedule changes, you can transfer your booking to a future class at no extra cost. Just let us know at least 5 working days before the class starts at talk@agileaffinity.com.
Can my employer pay, or can I get an invoice?
Yes. Select “Pay by Bank Transfer” at checkout and an invoice will be generated automatically. Payment must be received before joining instructions are sent. For larger corporate bookings or bespoke requirements, please contact us at talk@agileaffinity.com.
What if I have another question?
We are happy to help. Email us at talk@agileaffinity.com and we will get back to you quickly.
