Rickard Jones leads the classes, and each one works on your own real product or stakeholders, not a case study.

How Do You Earn the ICA Certified Professional in Product Management (ICP-PRD)?

ICA Product Management Certification pathway: the Core Credential (IC-PDMT) plus the Stakeholder Alignment (IC-STAL) and Measuring Product Value (IC-MPDV) Specialised Credentials equals the ICA Certified Professional ICP-PRD badge

ICP-PRD has three building blocks. The Core Credential (IC-PDMT) is the foundation of the pathway. Stakeholder Alignment (IC-STAL) and Measuring Product Value (IC-MPDV) are the two Specialised Credentials we teach, and ICA asks for at least two. You can take the classes in whichever order suits you.

One-on-one coaching session via Zoom

Every class booking includes a free 30-minute one-on-one session with your trainer, scheduled after the class when you need it most.

Plan your route and talk through which class to take next.

Get tailored guidance on applying what you learned to your own product and stakeholders.

Build confidence before you take your first steps back at work. Our goal is to support your success beyond the class.

How Does the Product Management Certification Work?

Three live, instructor-led classes

The Core class runs for one day, from 09:00 to 17:00, online with Zoom and Mural or in person. The two Specialised classes each run for 4 hours online. Each topic is followed straight away by practice, so you apply an idea before you move on to the next one.

Take them in any order

ICA credentials can be earned in any order. Many people start with the Core class, but you can begin with a Specialised class if that is the topic you need most. ICA issues ICP-PRD once you hold the Core Credential plus at least two Specialised Credentials.

You work on your own product, in groups

There are no case studies. You work through your real product and stakeholders, share them with your group and reflect together. Classes are typically around 12 people, with a maximum of 20, so everyone gets time for discussion and feedback.

Who Is This Certification For?

This certification is for anyone who shapes what gets built, or wants to. You do not need a product title, only a real product, service or internal platform to work on.

Product managers and product owners. Build a complete, recognised foundation in product management, from definition and vision to stakeholders and measures of value.

Project and delivery professionals. If you are moving from managing projects to owning ongoing product value, the three classes make that shift practical.

Designers, analysts, researchers and agile coaches. You work close to product decisions already. Learn how they are made, how to align the people involved and how to show they worked.

Leaders responsible for product direction. Get a shared language for outcomes, stakeholders and value that you can use with your teams.

What Do the Three ICP-PRD Credentials Cover?

ICA publishes learning outcomes for each credential. We list their titles here exactly as ICA words them.

IC-PDMT Core Credential: Products, Projects, and Deliverables; Product Types; Organizational Context and Product Management; Customer Understanding and Product-Market Fit; Market Context, Positioning, and Value Proposition; Product Opportunity Framing; Product Vision and Strategy; Prioritization and Trade-offs; Outcome-Oriented Planning and Roadmaps; Continuous Product Discovery; Critical Product Assumptions; Launch and Lifecycle Decisions.

IC-STAL Stakeholder Alignment: Understanding Your Stakeholder Landscape; Communication Under Uncertainty; Navigating Competing Priorities; Sustaining Trust and Alignment.

IC-MPDV Measuring Product Value: Defining Product Value and Outcomes; Selecting Product Metrics; Adapting Metrics Across Context; Using Evidence to Decide and Learn.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any prior experience to attend?

There are no formal prerequisites for any of the three classes. They suit current and aspiring product managers and the people who work closely with them. What you do need is a real product, service or internal platform, and real stakeholders, to work on, because every exercise uses them.

Does the order of the classes matter?

No. ICA credentials can be earned in any order, so you can take the Core class (IC-PDMT) and the two Specialised classes (IC-STAL and IC-MPDV) whenever suits you. To earn ICP-PRD you need the Core Credential plus at least two Specialised Credentials.

How do I earn the ICA Certified Professional in Product Management (ICP-PRD)?

Hold the Core Credential (IC-PDMT) plus at least two Specialised Credentials. We teach two Specialised Credentials today, Stakeholder Alignment (IC-STAL) and Measuring Product Value (IC-MPDV), so taking all three classes completes the set. ICA issues the certification automatically once you hold them.

Does ICA or Agile Affinity issue the certification?

ICA issues the ICP-PRD certification. Agile Affinity runs the live classes that earn the credentials, and our classes are not delivered by ICA.

Does ICP-PRD expire?

No. Once you have earned ICP-PRD, it does not expire.

Is there an exam?

No. You earn each credential through full participation in the exercises across the class.

Where do I find the Core class first?

The Core class is the one-day Product Management class that earns IC-PDMT. Open the IC-PDMT class page to see dates, prices and how to book. You can take it online or in person, before or after the Specialised classes.

Can I book the classes separately, or only as a bundle?

Both. You can book each class on its own, or take all three as a bundle for 10% off. To book the bundle, email talk@agileaffinity.com.

What if I already hold ICP-PDM®?

Our two-day ICP-PDM® class earns the ICAgile Certified Professional in Product Management certification and the IC-PDMT Core Credential together, from one booking. If you already hold ICP-PDM®, email us at talk@agileaffinity.com and we will tell you which classes you still need for ICP-PRD.

How many people will be in the class?

Classes typically have around 12 participants, with a maximum of 20. You work in small groups on your own product and stakeholders, so everyone gets time for discussion and feedback.

Are the sessions recorded?

No. The classes are live and interactive, with group exercises and real-time discussion at their centre. We expect full attendance across each class to earn its credential.

What software or equipment do I need?

For online classes you need the latest Zoom desktop application (not the web or mobile version), a stable internet connection, and a working webcam and microphone, with your camera on throughout. We use Mural for the group exercises and send you the link. For in-person Core classes, flipcharts and handouts are provided.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We offer a full refund if you contact us before the end of the class. If your schedule changes, you can transfer your booking to a future class at no extra cost. Just let us know at least 5 working days before the class starts at talk@agileaffinity.com.

Can my employer pay, or can I get an invoice?

Yes. Select “Pay by Bank Transfer” at checkout and an invoice will be generated automatically. Payment must be received before joining instructions are sent. For larger corporate bookings or bespoke requirements, please contact us at talk@agileaffinity.com.

What if I have another question?

We are happy to help. Email us at talk@agileaffinity.com and we will get back to you quickly.
